And I love the day.Ok let me tell you what its all about.A king in Rome forbade his armymen to marry. This Saint Valentine used to marry couples secretly. And the day is marked the day of love The rest depends on you what ever one thinks of about the day.I enjoy this day a lot i go out with my friends. Most of the people do that only and even married couples celebrate wit with zeal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1140185838213121852006-02-17T19:47:00.000+05:302006-02-17T19:47:00.000+05:30Both history_lover and indscribe are right. V-Day ...Both history_lover and indscribe are right. V-Day is bad but we shouldn't (and cannot) use force to stop it. What we should do is to improve the faith of the faithful. As faith is improved more and more, people will stop these things. Take the example of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He didn't force anyone, rather improved faith of people. And he continued this for nearly a decade. Only after that did the forbidding commands from Allah came, mostly in Medina. Then the Prophet (pbuh) didn't have to use force; people stopped these evils volunteerily. Only a Muslim govt can use force to stop evil; not individuals. So, let's raise each other's faith.Yasir Niaz Khanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04588106549679573179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1139855052131929172006-02-13T23:54:00.000+05:302006-02-13T23:54:00.000+05:30Agreed that vandalism is unacceptableAgreed that vandalism is unacceptablehistory_loverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07378477845368044765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1139849346639357762006-02-13T22:19:00.000+05:302006-02-13T22:19:00.000+05:30history_lover sahab, why support vandalism? At best the elders can explain, teach or scold their children but why imposing your views on anyone forcefully? I don't celebrate valentine's day but if someone does, who gives me the right to stop anyone. In India Muslims have lot of problems, better do constructive things within than stopping anyone.editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17073543434209800940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1139827940492772722006-02-13T16:22:00.000+05:302006-02-13T16:22:00.000+05:30Personally I am not terribly fond of V-Day.Personally I am not terribly fond of V-Day.Fahd Mirzahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14722451950835849728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1139827905933082402006-02-13T16:21:00.000+05:302006-02-13T16:21:00.000+05:30very interesting.very interesting.Fahd Mirzahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14722451950835849728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1139811306718788302006-02-13T11:45:00.000+05:302006-02-13T11:45:00.000+05:30I differ with you .Valentines Day has pagan and Ch...I differ with you .Valentines Day has pagan and Christian origins and is promoted by market forces.
As a Muslim should'nt our central vision be the development of Taqwa and preparation for the akhirah ?
Should'nt we try to control the baser instincts of our Nafs ?
Yes enjoyment and fun do have a place but..
I think the issue is that Valentines Day is seen as a legitimisation of a relationship which the Shariah does not condone.
Romantic love between people outside of marriage is constantly
glorified through the media and culture. Thus forsaking family and even religion for the sake of love is glorified.
Allah describes those people who only follow their desires
numerous times throughout the Qur'an. Let us not be
among those who Allah describes as most astray and let
those not become our ideals. "Who is more astray than
one who follows his own lusts, devoid of guidance from
Allah? For Allah guides not people given to wrongdoing" [28: 50]
“Then seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?” [45:23]history_loverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07378477845368044765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14053277.post-1139767156721241942006-02-12T23:29:00.000+05:302006-02-12T23:29:00.000+05:30GOOD POSTING...GOOD POSTING...Shuaibhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09917522401192571532noreply@blogger.com
