On one side of it in verandah near Ganga Prasad Hall, there is Danish Mahal, a famous Urdu book shop, and on the other side there is Khursheed Book Depot just beside the Post Office. Also, there is Jamat-e-Islami bookshop and near that, there is a small shop which is not visible and I am forgetting the name. <BR/>If you want books in both Urdu and English scripts, you should go to Hazratganj where there are shops like Minoo and Dinshaw. I'm actually currently in Lucknow studying Urdu through the American Institute of Indian Studies, and I found your blog because I had googled "Lucknow Urdu bookstore." You had written a post about a year ago regarding a particular bookstore in Lucknow, which I tried to find this afternoon without much luck--I guess I'm still a clueless American as far as getting around is concerned. Anyway, I LOVE Faiz, and took an entire class on him during college, so I really enjoyed this particular post.
