Eid-uz-Zuha tomorrow. I am taking off. Will take rest. The best thing about Tuesday was that I got a cute bag-cum-radio as a gift. It has a radio on the front side and the bag you can either attach to your belt or hang anywhere.
It really looks lovely, the mechanism I can't understand, but it is too good and everybody who saw it fell in love with it. Ah once again this happened. People keep on asking you, what Eid is this? The Baqrid or the Sevaiyon wali.
And then the spellings everyone is in doubt whether to use the Arabic, the Urdu, the hybrid style or the desi one Baqrid. Nice to see how newspaper in English spell it differently evertime. Eid-ul-Zuha, Eid-uz-Zuha, Eid-ul-Azha, Eid-ul-Adha or then all the same derivatives with Id, Idul etc....

Adil Mansoori is a well-known Urdu poet. I especially like Mansoori's verse on Jang-e-Tubook.

Happy Eid
"Eid ul-Adha" means the major festival. It is also called the "Eid of Sacrifice" or the "Eid ul-Hajj". The "Eid ul-Adha" is a commemoration and a reminder to Muslims of several things; for example:
• The story of Prophet Ebrahim (AS) (Abraham) and Prophet Ismail (AS) (Ishmael) and their willingness to make great sacrifices for Allah.
• To be ready to make sacrifices for the religion of Islam.
• For those who have not gone for Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mekka), it is showing support for their fellow Muslims who are completing the Hajj on that day (i.e., 10th Dhu al Hejja).
